HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention
Concern America’s program in Mozambique specifically focuses on health care related to HIV and AIDS.
In Mozambique, there are 1.6 million people living with HIV, according to UN AIDS 10% of all people in Mozambique are living with HIV or AIDS. Education about how to prevent HIV, along with affordable medication and treatment to help those affected are crucial in reducing infection rates, and extending life expectancy.
Field volunteers using the Health Promoter Practitioners model, train local community members on education and health care and provide low-cost, affordable medication for those already affected.
